Positive Emotions

Positive emotions are an attitude of the mind in what we think, feel and behave.

They bring positive results and give our future positive expectations.

They bring positive emotions by fueling resilience, to persevere and to endure, despite obstacles.

They broaden our awareness to see more options for problem solving and to adapt to life's challenges.

And, they help people to think better, perform better and enjoy life more.

You Reap What You Sow

Emotions can influence:

*How you relate to the world.

*How you think and feel about yourself.

*How you live.

Emotions reflect inner feelings.

When there is no sense of purpose in the present, people become drifters that head nowhere in particular.

They will still be waiting next year, the year after and five years from now - dreams remain unfulfilled.

Positive emotions, open the door to better days ahead.

Assets of the mind:

*Positive attitude

*Clear conscience

*Self-respect

*Spiritual fulfillment

Gift of God

Life has real meaning when we understand it is a Divine, Gift of God.

It becomes precious when we know there is an eternal destiny.

We honor God's Gift by following His Laws of Life that set us on our spiritual paths.

We seek our salvation through ideals and values that make positive contributions to ourselves, our family and our community.

The Biblical revelation of salvation through repentance and forgiveness should have a great impact on the kind of life we lead.

Generally, life that reflects our values always finds the path to self-fulfillment.

The dark colors we sometimes experience, make us realize that life is not just a bed of roses.

Faith

Faith is a positive emotion.

Faith is our belief - it is confidence in what we hope for.

It can illuminate our path through the power of the imagination.

Faith is the bedrock of the true Christian who:

*Believes in God unconditionally - this is trust.

*Believes that Jesus Died on the Cross for our sins.

*Anticipates the future of God's Promises.

We turn to God and Jesus Christ when we are conscious of sin or are depressed in spirit.

We need faith to remove mountains in order to do what others think is impossible.

Love

Love fulfills a fundamental Law of God.

In Corinthians 13:4-7, St. Paul said that God's Greatest Gift to humanity, is love.

Jesus Christ was the embodiment of love (Matt. 22:37-40).

He said: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. ' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

-1 Corinthians 13:13

When Jesus was being Crucified, He asked God, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” Luke 23:34.

And they divided up His Clothes by casting lots.

The Golden Rule precept in the Gospel of Matthew (7:12): “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”

This rule of conduct is a summary of the Christian's duty to their neighbor and states a fundamental ethical principle.

Love nurtures the bonds of the close-knit family.

Children "brought up" on Christian values and virtues are blessed with the moral and ethical values to follow throughout life.

Friendships are forged with the bonds of mutual affection.

Hope

Hope is a positive emotion.

The strength of hope is desire.

Desire provides the resourcefulness to approach a problem or a goal with a positive mindset.

Its strong desire can mean the difference between giving up and going on.

In the Bible hope leads to faith.

“If You can” Jesus said. “All things are possible to him who believes!”

The positive emotion of hope creates a confident expectation to persevere and to endure towards a brighter tomorrow.

Joy

Joy is a positive emotion.

Joy is represented by the smile of a happy person.

It conveys positive emotions that affect how others see us.

In the spiritual sense, joy is found by the one who has God in their heart.

When our "heart spiritually awakens" our lives have meaning, a purpose and an eternal destiny.

Peace of Mind

We need peace of mind to ease our conscience!

The conscience provides a moral sense of right and wrong through our values and principles.

It becomes the standard we use to judge whether or not our actions are ethical.

The conscience helps to make you feel guilty when you do something bad and good when you do something kind.

In the spiritual sense, your conscience is the Voice of God!

No-one can stand before God and lie or do evil with a clear conscience.

The healing energy of a tranquil mind glows from within when you live in love and harmony.

Positive Emotions
Goodness

Goodness is a positive emotion of ethical thinking that defines an individual by how they view the world and interact within it.

Its attributes include selflessness, humility, compassion and service.

Every good deed leaves the mark of goodness.

It is displayed through love, humility and forgiveness.

"Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth."

-(Matthew 5:5)

"Count Your Blessings"

"Count your blessings” encourages the individual to focus on the positive aspects of life and to appreciate what they have.

*think about the things you love the most.

*think about the things that make you grateful.

*think about the things that made you happy.

*they all serve as a reminder to "count your blessing".

Counting your blessings means being thankful for what you have.

It promotes optimism and inspires positive emotions.

It is the way God can "See" us as a living testimony of His Love, Kindness, Mercy, and Grace.

“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.”

– Camille Pissarro.
